The Erasmus Day Live is an initiative set out for the Erasmus Project celebration, with the aim of promoting the European cultural identity among young people through non conventional methods: stimulating musical, artistic and performing contexts so to experience it as a “trendy” element.
Erasmus Day Live 2010 is the event’s second year which will also take place in Turin: Young People’s European Capital from May to June 2010, starting from 14th May up until the 11th June 2010 with the final evening event in the splendid scenery of the gardens of the “Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi” (Nichelino).
Carried out with the help and contribution of important partners and sponsors and the support of the National Institutions (Italian Government, Young People Ministry, Piedmont Region, Province of Turin, Turin Unesco Centre, F.I.R. Italia, Turin Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Handicraft), the European Parliament, the UCEE (Union of the European Experts Chambers) and the most prestigious universities from all over Europe, among which Turin, Milan, Parma and the 'Università per stranieri' in Perugia, the 'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera' and 'La Sapienza' in Rome, it has earned itself from its very first year the appreciation and support of the Union thanks to it’s cultural value and to being able in a concrete and uninterrupted way to attract the young people, in particular students, towards the world of the institutions.
Press conference arguments
The next 9th December, Piero Saba and Dario Martinetti, who coordinate the event’s organizing committee, will introduce, together with the guests –among whom the Turin Young People Politics Alderman Mrs. Marta Levi, the Mayor of Nichelino Mr. Giuseppe Citazone, the Vice Chancellor of the 'Università degli Studi di Torino' Prof. Maria Lodovica Gullino and the Managing Director of Pernod-Ricard Group Mr. Noel Adrian - the 2010 project and the new aspects of this second year, during the press conference which will be held at the European Parliament in Brussels on 9th December 2009 in Brussel, at the European Parliament.
“Drinking awareness” isone of the leading topics of this year, for which a number of connected events are scheduled. It is put forward in a context, the Erasmus Day Live, which can have a grip exactly on young people, the public to which the message is addressed to.
The event’s program, the details of the activities that involve art, culture and the young people’s world, the activities connected to the“drinking awareness” project will be explained to the journalists during the press conference.
The other big novelty, connected with the new portal presented during the conference that will start off the 2010 event’s presence on the Web, is characterised by interaction. Through the Web all the young of Europe, while waiting for Turin’s great event, will be able to come into contact, write, send photographs, tell stories and meet thanks to the social network tools which will refer to the new web site. Not only, but the materials will form the editorial backbone for a number of texts that will be released after an editorial review on the web through other newspapers.
